Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Thank you all for being members of the Web Application Programming Technology User Group.

We will be celebrating our 8th year as a networking  group in 2015!

We have a lot of fun projects to get involved with and a new year to get them completed.

We will have 12 meetings this year as always on the first Saturday of the month.

A little history about our group.

In 2007 we started out as the Joomla Users Group of Bothell known as JoomlaForGeeks.Com where we focused on helping web site owners that used the Joomla.Org Content Management System.

In 2012 we added the group The Next Generation I.T. Club chapter of Cascadia Community College to connect web application and Information Technology students with our group to help them find projects to internship for.

Then in 2013 we added the Eastlake Community Church Web Site Development and Design Group to the meetings to develop a source for web projects to work on.

Then in 2014 we added the GeekZoneBooks.Com community support group to our meetings to provide a community support group for the web hosting customers of GeekZoneBooks.Com.

In 2014 we merged all the groups into a single name for simplicity and have developed our main logo.

GeekZoneBooks.Com has always been our hosting sponsor and has provided domain and hosting for our sites WapTug.Org, WapTug.Com and WapTug.Net

We have over 50 members that have attended over the last 7 years and hope to grow our group to over 100 this year.

We also have plans to formalize our group into a self sustaining non-profit corporation and grow our group into a larger group with decentralized chapters around the world in colleges and churches by 2017 when we celebrate our 10 year mile stone.

In order to do that we will need a core group of directors to move that plan into existence so if your interested in helping to build our group into a actual non-profit corporation then please commit to attending all of the meetings in 2015 and let me know of your interest in moving forward on this project.

CompuCom.Com Field Service Technician

Overview:

Performs service, repair and/or installation of company product(s) including system hardware, software, and PC's. Provides technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment. Serves as customer contact on technical and service related problems. Diagnoses mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures, using established procedures. Determines most cost effective repair/resolution to minimize customer downtime. May involve use of problem management databases and help desk system.

Responsibilities:

• Represents CompuCom in a professional and businesslike manner and communicates effectively with customers and associates. 

• Interacts with customer responding to technical questions or requests for information. 

• Processes timely and accurate information to ensure compliance with warranty requirements of vendors. 

• Maintains the highest level of customer satisfaction by resolving all tangible problems and concerns. 

• Escalates problems and issues to a higher level of support.  This includes service that exceeds response time, repair time, lack of parts, or any other issue that could impact customer satisfaction.

• Primarily provides Tier 1 & 2 level support; occasionally performs Tier 3 level support.  

• Performs general maintenance tasks, troubleshoots, and prepares computer systems and peripheral equipment. 

• Performs basic computer hardware and software installations. 

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Requires a minimum of 1-2 years of related work experience, high school diploma, or technical training, or equivalent combination of education and technical experience. 

 -Ability to attain A+ certification with 90 days of employment.
